Kingfisher Hide

Set in the grounds of a beautiful Shropshire Estate our Kingfisher Hide, has heating, seats 4 comfortably, has toilet facilities onsite, has a diving set up,is well equipped with gimbal heads and bean bags and has lots of visits from our resident Kingfishers.

About Kingfisher Hide
Kingfisher Hide is based in the grounds of a beautiful estate,near Market Drayton which is located near the county borders of Shropshire,Staffordshire and Cheshire. There is a 5 minute walk to the hide and the path at different times of the year is bordered by Snowdrops and Daffodils or Buebells and Rhododendrons.

The hide is heated, has toilet facilities, 4 hide plates with gimbal heads, 2 double beanbags,scrim netting over the viewing shutters,mobile phone charger, hooks to locate your camera bags/ coats and comfortable padded seats and there are toilet facilities onsite.

This hide is specifically for Kingfishers and has several visits per day from our resident Kingfisher, but unlike other Kingfisher hides, it also boasts a long list of additional visitors to keep you occupied.

From the hide you can see the nests of our resident Swans and Coots but we also have regular visits from-Moorhen,Mandarin ducks,Mallard,Tufted Ducks, Heron,Jay,Woodpecker,Swallows,Nuthatch,Great Tits, Blue Tits,Phesant etc etc

Cost

The cost is £100 per person per day ,which represents great value and we have  a first class diving set up and added toilet facilities.

Group Size

Kingfisher hide can seat 4 people comfortably, its 4m x 2.4m, so no problem with social distancing

Directions/Meeting

For this hide we meet at 8am at The Loggerheads Pub Car Park, 1 Eccleshall Rd, Loggerheads, Market Drayton TF9 2QU which is located on the A53 Newcastle-Under -Lyme to Shrewsbury Road and the meeting location is just 20-25 minutes from the M6 either junction 14/15 or 16

It is a 5 minute journey to the hide and a 5 minute walk from the car park and we aim to be set up for 8.15am and the hide can be used until 5pm.

What To Bring

You will need boots  as sometimes it can be a it muddy underfoot and please keep to the pathways shown to you.

Warm clothing and a flask of something warm is recommended in the colder months and you’ll need a lens in the 300mm- 600mm range for perched shots,remember spare batteries and memory cards as well as you camera bodies band its always good to have a spare bean bag.
For the diving set up you need a wireless remote(or 5m wired), waterproof camera cover and a lens that shoots at 100mm on a full frame or around 65mm on a crop body camera.

Conditions of Booking

1.The hide is yours for the day, no smoking or vaping is permitted and please enter and leave the hide quietly in order to protect and respect the wildlife.
2. When you leave the hide then please return to your car and don’t walk around the estate, we are there with the kind permission of the owners.
3. Please take all your litter home and leave everything as you found it.
4. Photography is only allowed from within the hide.
